EquuSys is a privately-held company
headquartered in Sudbury, Massachusetts founded by a desire to
incorporate state of the art sensor technologies in a small,
lightweight, configuration to accurately detect lameness in equine
athletes before it results in a catastrophic leg injury − placing horse
and rider at significant risk.
As a result of two years of
engineering development and user testing, EquuSys has developed a
wireless telemetry network that integrates a range of high tech sensors
which are deployed in luxury cars into a wireless device that weighs
less than 100 grams. EquuSys sensors are strategically placed on a
horse to precisely measure the gait and movement detecting any changes
or variations in patterns in real time, under real world day to day
conditions.
Telemetry and informatics solutions are
maximizing performance and attracting new audiences to elite sports
worldwide like Formula One and Americas Cup − and these are relatively
small sports in comparison to the number of horses, owners, trainers
and riders and the size of the support industries and audiences
attracted to elite equine events.
